The national championship

The Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine, in collaboration with the UHD Foundation, supports the Ukrainian National Championship. This project is aimed at supporting Ukrainian hockey clubs, maintaining their qualification for future development, providing support to hockey coaches, staff, and players, and ensuring the safety and protection of players during the competition.

The 2022/23 season marked the first full-scale season amidst the ongoing invasion. Despite challenging circumstances such as blackouts, air alerts, sponsorship shortages, and spectator absence, we managed to successfully conduct the championship and organize training and gameplay within current limitations. Teams unable to train in their home cities relocated to other facilities.

The 2023/2024 season represented the second full season for Ukrainian hockey amidst the war. Six teams participated, including two newly formed ones.

Preparation for the 2024/2025 season is currently underway.
